Click Add business in the top nav and fill in your details. The process takes around 5 minutes.

Is it free to list?

Yes, the basic listing is completely free. You only pay if you want to upgrade to a paid plan for extra visibility and features.

Is it free to list my business?

Yes. The basic Free listing is completely free — no credit card required. You only pay if you upgrade to a Starter (£49/yr), Pro (£149/yr), Elite (£399/yr), or Multi-location (£999+/yr) plan.

What's the difference between Starter, Pro and Elite?

Starter (£49/yr) adds a Verified badge, photo uploads (5 photos), and review responses. Pro (£149/yr) adds an analytics dashboard, lead inbox, AI reply drafts, and featured placement. Elite (£399/yr) adds automated review requests, a competitor radar, and priority support. Multi-location (£999+/yr) covers up to 250 locations with full API access.

Do you offer pricing in euros for Ireland?

Yes. Businesses in the Republic of Ireland are billed in euros: Starter €55/yr, Pro €169/yr, Elite €459/yr, Multi-location €1,129+/yr. Your pricing region is detected automatically from your business postcode.

Is there a discount for Channel Islands, Isle of Man or remote Scottish islands?

Yes. Businesses in Crown Dependencies (Jersey GY/JE, Isle of Man IM) and remote Scottish islands (HS, ZE, KW, selected Highland areas) receive discounted rates: Starter £37/yr, Pro £99/yr, Elite £299/yr. Your discount is applied automatically at checkout based on your postcode prefix.

Can I pay monthly instead of annually?

Yes, monthly billing is available for Starter, Pro and Elite plans. Annual billing saves you approximately 2 months — equivalent to a 17% discount. Multi-location plans are annual-only.

Why is my business already listed — I did not add it?

Businesses in England and Wales are listed in the public Companies House register. We import this data to give business owners a head start. You can claim and customise your listing at any time — for free.

How do I claim my existing listing?

Find your business using the search bar and open your listing. Click 'Claim this listing' and follow the verification steps — the process takes about 5 minutes.

How long does it take to appear?

Approved listings appear within 24 hours. We review submissions to ensure quality for everyone using the directory.

Can I edit my listing after publishing?

Yes, log in to your dashboard to edit anytime. Changes to core details (address, phone, website) are re-reviewed and live within a few hours.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Go to Dashboard → Billing and click "Cancel subscription". Your listing remains active until the end of your current paid period. You will not be charged again after cancellation.

Can I upgrade or downgrade between plans?

Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately and the price difference is prorated for the remaining billing period. Downgrades apply at the next renewal date so you retain your current plan features until then.

Will my listing appear on Google?

Yes. All listings are indexable by Google and Bing. Premium listings with photos, reviews and complete descriptions rank higher and appear in more local search queries.

Can I have multiple locations?

Yes. The Multi-location plan covers up to 3 locations, with additional locations available at £199/yr each (up to 250 total). Starter, Pro, and Elite plans cover a single business location.

Are the reviews real?

Yes, we verify reviews against booking records where possible. Suspected fake reviews are removed, and businesses that try to game the system are flagged.

How do reviews work on Yolist?

Anyone can leave a review for a business. Reviews are manually moderated before appearing publicly. We cross-reference purchase or booking records where possible to flag potentially fraudulent reviews.

Can businesses respond to reviews?

Yes — businesses on Starter, Pro, Elite and Multi-location plans can post a public reply to any review. Owner replies are shown directly below the customer review on the listing page.

What do I do if a review is fake or unfair?

Use the "Report this review" button on the review. Our moderation team will investigate within 48 hours. If the review violates our guidelines (fake, spam, or abusive), it will be removed.

Are reviews verified?

We verify reviews against booking records where a transaction took place on Yolist. These are shown with a "Verified purchase" badge. Reviews submitted without a transaction are moderated manually for authenticity.

How do I contact a business?

Use the 'Request a quote' button on their profile. Your message goes directly to the business owner and they typically respond within one working day.

Can I report incorrect information?

Use the 'Suggest an edit' link on the business page. Our moderation team reviews every suggestion and updates the listing if the information is accurate.

How do I add my business to Yolist?

Visit yolist.uk/add-listing, fill in your business details and submit. Your listing will appear within 24 hours after review.

How do I leave a review?

Find the business on Yolist and click 'Write a Review' on their profile page. You'll need to create a free account.

Is Yolist free to use for customers?

Yes, Yolist is completely free to use for customers searching for businesses.

How do I find a business near me?

Search for the service you need (e.g. "plumber") on the Yolist homepage. You can filter by city, postcode district, or use our "Near Me" pages to browse by category in your area. Your browser location is not required — just type your postcode or city.

Are businesses on Yolist verified?

Businesses can be verified in two ways: automatic cross-reference against Companies House data (for registered UK companies), or by claiming and verifying ownership via email, SMS, or postcard. Verified businesses display a blue "Verified" badge on their profile.

What does the 'Verified' badge mean?

The Verified badge means the business owner has confirmed ownership of the listing via email, SMS, or Companies House data matching. Yolist verifies the identity of the listing owner — not the quality of their services. Always check reviews and ask for certifications for professional trades.

What does the food hygiene rating mean?

Food hygiene ratings (0–5) are issued by the UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) to food businesses including restaurants, cafes, takeaways, and pubs. A rating of 5 means the hygiene standards were very good at the time of inspection. Ratings are updated when the FSA re-inspects the business. Yolist displays FSA ratings sourced from the official FSA open data API.

Can I remove a negative review?

Businesses cannot remove reviews simply for being negative. Reviews may only be removed if they violate our guidelines (spam, fake, abusive, or unrelated to the business). Use the 'Report this review' button to flag a review for moderation. Our team reviews all reports within 48 hours.

How do I update my business information?

Claim your listing at yolist.uk/businesses (search for your business and click 'Claim'), complete ownership verification, then log in to your dashboard to edit your details, photos, opening hours, and description at any time.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards via Stripe. Apple Pay and Google Pay are also supported at checkout.

Is VAT included in the prices shown?

No. Prices shown are exclusive of VAT. UK businesses will see 20% VAT added at checkout. Irish businesses are charged Irish VAT rates. Prices for Crown Dependencies (Jersey, Guernsey, Isle of Man) are exempt from UK VAT.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, cancel from your dashboard under Settings > Billing. Cancellations stop future charges immediately and your plan stays active until the end of the current period.
